Council Meetings

Council meetings take place in the council chambers on the first floor of City Hall. Meetings are held twice a month on the first and third Mondays.

• Caucus: 6:30 pm
• Business Meeting: 6:45 pm

If a meeting falls on a federal holiday, it will be held on the following Tuesday.

Public Participation

The public is welcome to speak at council meetings. To participate:

1. Registration: Sign your name, topic, and phone number on the sign-in sheet located at the entrance to the council chambers. Registration closes at 6:45 pm.
2. Speaking: Public comments occur at the end of the meeting after council business. Each speaker has 2 minutes to address the council.
3. Procedure: When called, approach the podium, state your name and address, and proceed with your comments.

Services at City Hall

City Hall offers the following services to residents:

• Yard Sale Permits: $10 for 2 days
• Trash & Recycle Bins: $75 each
• Heritage Rental Hall Reservations: Available during business hours
• Notary Services: $5 per document (car titles not notarized)
• Tax Payments: Pay city taxes in person or over the phone
• Code Enforcement Citation Payments: Pay in person or over the phone
• Business Registration: Register to operate a business in Shively and pay business taxes
• Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) License Applications
• Council Meeting Attendance
